The CCAB operates a training center to meet the following objectives:
 
1) To assist people with visual impairment to get off disability income and gain independent-living skills.  
2) To establish a community outreach program to benefit the visually impaired or legally blind, whether they are a member of the CCAB or not.  
3) To enhance the membership growth of the CCAB on a continual basis.  
4) To provide ongoing and expanded programs which will change with technology and the need of the center's patrons  
 

Training Center Resources

Qualified CCAB members and volunteers conduct free training programs 

Training equipment at the center includes three braillers, six PCs; the Arkenstone Open Book System (text to speech); two high-tech reading magnifiers; one hand-held scanner and one flat-bed scanner. In addition, there are two ink jet printers and one dot matrix printer. Recently JAWS text to speech software was added to the center's capabilities. 

 Locations

Bi-weekly meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday every month at the Golden Gate Community Center, 4701 Golden Gate Parkway, at the corner of Sunshine Parkway in Golden Gate. 

Wednesdays are full of fun - We go bowling! 

The CCAB Training Center is located at 850 6th Avenue North, one block west of U.S. 41 in Naples. Training sessions are made by appointment.
