Sisterhood Shabbat

Please join us for a very special evening as we celebrate Sisterhood and announce the recipient of the “Woman of Valor” award.

Sisterhood kicked off the New Year with a wonderful program held in conjunction with Hadassah.  A group of women traveled to the east coast for a tour of the Jewish Museum of Florida, the famous historical Art Deco district and lunch at the Big Pink.  A special thanks goes to Helen Weinfeld for coordinating this effort on behalf of Sisterhood.

We also held two membership events honoring our new members and new life members.  On January 7, we held a “Sinful Chocolate” event at the Melting Pot and then on January 9, Sisterhood hosted a brunch at Olde  Cypress.  Membership Chairman, Holly Shapiro, along with her committee members did an excellent job!

This year we would like to recognize and thank the following new life members for their outstanding commitment to our organization: Tracey Albert, Denise Altman, Ellen Baseman, Maria Bollt, Myra Friedman, Stacey Nicolau, Midge Rauch and Susan Hope Reidel.

We have begun using email to more effectively communicate with our members in regard to programs and activities.  If you are not receiving this information, please send an email to sisterhoodnaples@yahoo.com so that we may update our addresses.  Our list is private and we send out one or two emails a month.

SAY YES!

The YES Fund is the oldest ongoing commitment shared by the Women of Reform Judaism.  One way that we as a congregation can support this project is through the sale of Uniongrams.  Monies raised go to URJ Youth (i.e. NFTY and Kesher), Education (i.e. rabbinic scholarships here and abroad), and many Special Projects that help to ensure the future of Reform Judaism.

You can participate in the project by sending a Uniongram (white vellum, $4 each), Silvergram (silver cardstock, $6 each) or Goldengram (gold metallic cardstock, $8 each). They are appropriate for any occasion.  All cards include postage and your personal message.  Recipients will know that you have helped the Youth, Education and Special Projects Fund of WRJ.
